WebJan 1, 2016 · The main obvious differences (8 slices vs 4 slices, 2m) are not a concern for me. Mechanically I like how all the connections to the 6600 are made on the back of the rig which keeps the front of the radio clutter free. The other plus (even though I didn't need it on the 6700) is a 2 year warranted rig. Of course the important thing is receiver ... WebReview Notes. The FLEX 6500 was purchased used and will be traded up for a 6600. By unfortunate chance, this creates a 20 day window for me to review the radio and will mean that it will be more limited than my usual work. I have owned all Flex transceivers from 1500 to 6400 and never had a single problem with the hardware . Never a trip back to Texas.
