WebMay 31, 2024 · TrueHD and DTS-HD MA passthrough under Linux. This is just a quick note for those running Kodi on Linux who need full audio passthrough functionality via HDMI. Kodi 17.6 passthrough works beautifully on Linux, you simply have to launch it with a script that disables PulseAudio on entry and reenables it on exit. perfect playback of pretty much any video/audio format (including high-bitrate 2160p H.265/HEVC with HDR), pass-through of pretty much all audio formats (including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X), refresh rate- and resolution switching (i.e. no need for software upscaling, although it also comes with improved software scalers like Lancoz3 etc.). All of these are available in Kodi too.
