WebDec 30, 2024 · Just a tiny side note of history involving the 577/450 and the Snider. Prior to one of his safaris, WDM Bell acquired several 577 Snider rifles to arm his askaris, but could only find an adequate supply of 577/450 ammo. He deduced the 577/450 would fire OK in the Snider but with the bullet ricocheting down the bore side to side. WebJun 13, 2024 · I have been shooting my Grandad's .577 Snider a lot lately. I replaced the stock many years ago when I found a donor rifle , and found a sight in my dearly departed father's spare parts , and started having fun! This month I decided to make a concerted effort to shoot it accurately, and have been doing fairly well at 200 meters with a front rest.
